Emiru Assaulted at TwitchCon 2025

X Post By @BaconCrumbz

Emiru was assaulted during a TwitchCon 2025 meet and greet when a man pushed past several barriers and approached her without security interference. The man grabbed her face and tried to kiss her before her personal team intervened. The incident was caught on camera, and the original video went viral, raising serious concerns about TwitchCon’s lack of security and how staff handled the situation.

In her statement on X, she said Twitch staff failed to act, and that only her personal security and manager stepped in. She called Twitch’s claim that the man was “immediately detained” false and said he walked away and wasn’t caught until hours after.

Emiru later uploaded a video explaining more and said she won’t return to TwitchCon. She urged other creators to reconsider attending, saying she did not feel protected even with her own team present. She also revealed that her usual personal security wasn’t allowed at the event, as he had been banned from a past TwitchCon for intervening during a similar incident.

On October 25, 2025, Emiru went live and accused Mizkif of sexual assault, stalking, emotional abuse, and blackmail. She said the two had dated for years and that during that time he made threats against her, and used his position to keep her quiet. She also said he forced physical contact in moments where she felt unsafe.

Mizkif responded the next day, calling their relationship “toxic” and saying he wasn’t perfect, but denied the serious accusations. He streamed a 31-minute video later reuploaded to YouTube as “The Truth…”, where he gave his side of the story and addressed Emiru’s claims.

After the incident, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy started facing backlash for how he responded to the Emiru situation. In a YouTube interview with Taylor Lorenz, he appeared to shift a lot of responsibility onto streamers by suggesting that those who livestream can ban people and control their communities. Many saw this as downplaying Twitch’s role in keeping creators safe and viewed it as a form of victim blaming.

Five days later, Twitch posted an official apology on X. Clancy admitted failure, saying, “We failed, both in allowing it to occur, and in our response following.” He also apologized for his earlier comments and said Twitch would review event security and meet and greet protocols.

Since the TwitchCon incident, people have been criticizing and mocking Dan Clancy for how he responded. A viral AI parody song by Guccimarx titled “This Some CEO Type Sh*t” blew up online, making fun of him and the way he handled the situation.
