There are said to be over a hundred Labubus living in the forest, all part of a playful all-girl tribe called “The Monsters,” led by Zimomo. One of these Labubus is known for dating Tycoco, and she’s often the one we follow in stories and figure drops.
She’s curious and always up to something, the type to explore everything and stir up a bit of harmless chaos. Labubu’s got a fun, mischievous streak, but at the end of the day, she’s sweet and upbeat. She’s especially close with Mokoko and Pippo.
Zimomo

Zimomo | Gender: Male | Relationship: Leader of the Labubu Tribe | Lore: Zimomo is the only male character in the Labubu Tribe and serves as their leader. |

Out of the group, he’s known as the quiet thinker, always in his own world, cooking up big plans that usually get everyone else roped in too.He and Pippo are so close they see each other as brothers, and he’s also good friends with Yaya. Spooky’s the kind of character who shows up when things quiet down. He’s got a soft, snowman like look with little folds on his head that make him look a bit like a dumpling. Don’t let the name fool you, he’s not scary. He just likes to be out at night, chilling under the moonlight. He’s Pippo’s half-brother and spends a lot of time near Labubu’s village. Since then, he’s been popping in often just to cause a little chaos or stir up fun.

He’s also Spooky’s half-brother and hangs out a lot with Yaya too.
Where Did All These Labubu Characters Come From?
The Monsters Came From a 2015 Storybook by Kasing Lung
THE MONSTER characters Guide By @mokoko.bubu on TikTokLabubu was originally created by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung. The character first appeared in a 2015 illustrated storybook called The Monsters, which introduced a whole group of unique characters inspired by Nordic folklore. The book wasn’t just for kids, it had a quirky, detailed world that caught the attention of art toy collectors.
At first, Labubu stayed underground. Figures were made through a company called How2Work and mainly sold in smaller circles or at art events. It was something you had to be in-the-know to find. But that changed in 2019, when Labubu started collaborating with Pop Mart, a Chinese brand known for its mystery box collectible toys.
The original Monsters characters helped build the little world that Labubu now lives in, those designs still show up in new toy drops today and was the backbone of the now famous labubu figures.
