In an exclusive article by Deadline, on November 5, 2025, Story Kitchen is developing an adaptation of Roblox’s Grow a Garden with the game’s creators involved. The report lists producers and partners and states that the project is in early development with plot details under wraps.

According to Bloomberg, Story Kitchen also signed an agreement with New Zealand’s Splitting Point Studios and the team is envisioning a family adventure that honors the game’s community spirit.

The official Grow a Garden X account @GrowaGardenRblx retweeted a post about the movie and added the side-eye emoji 👀. Many fans see that as confirmation the movie is in the works and it now looks very likely to happen.

Grow a Garden Movie Release Date

There has been no confirmed release date so far, for the Roblox grow a garden movie.

A holiday 2026 window is possible if hiring and production start soon. If the schedule stretches, 2027 to 2029 would be more likely. However, this is not confirmed and is currently speculation until an official update lands.

Timing matters. If it takes too long, Grow a Garden could slip into irrelevancy.

Is There a Grow a Garden Movie Trailer?

No trailer exists yet. There are no official sources with footage or a date for a first look.

If production starts early 2026, a short teaser in mid 2026 is possible, with a first full look more likely in late 2026. If cameras roll later, push those windows back.

A full trailer typically lands 3 to 6 months before release, and sometimes longer. So the first full trailer could arrive well after a teaser, depending on how the schedule shakes out.

According to Bloomberg, the reported, envisioned plot is “kids stumbling onto a portal to Grow A Garden’s universe,” going on a journey, and returning to the real world.

Fans are already comparing this setup to the Minecraft movie plot, where characters enter a game world and have to find their way back to the real world.

Grow a Garden Movie Cast and Character Speculation

No cast is confirmed. Many fans are hoping for a Jandel cameo, or his green bean Roblox avatar, plus the traveling merchants and Sam, the seed shop owner. Some also ask for Sammy “SpyderSammy,” the developer of Steal a Brainrot. According to Fandom, “Contrary to popular belief, Sammy and Jandel aren’t enemies, they are just friends pretending they’re enemies with each other.” That has sparked talk that a few Steal a Brainrot characters could appear as small Easter eggs in the Grow a Garden movie.

People online also float YouTubers like MrBeast, which is unlikely. Others mention celebrities like Jack Black because of the Minecraft movie and Jim Carrey because of Sonic. Fans have made the Sonic link because Story Kitchen’s leadership includes a Sonic co-producer.

All of this is purely speculation. Since this is a kids game, many roles will probably go to younger or up-and-coming child actors.

Do We Need a Grow a Garden Movie?

I think a Grow a Garden movie could work, and an official Roblox film has a real shot with families and fans of the game. I think it will all depend on casting and timing. If the team picks strong young leads and releases it while the game is still huge, it could land big. The Minecraft movie earlier this year showed a game adaptation can crush at the box office, so Grow a Garden might see similar success if the game stays relevant. I’m keen to watch it either way, and I expect a lot of players will show up, too.
